Portable Automated Wound Care System

Faster Wound Healing

RastaCare Meditech developed a non-invasive, non-contact imaging device that uses cellphones to capture images of wounds in high-resolution and in real-time, which can be used at the point-of-care.

The Portable Automated Wound Care System works by using existing cellphone with a small add-on hardware that is easily strapped to the cellphone.

The data generated through the device will support medical practitioners in their clinical decisions for better wound management.

3D WOUND Measurment

The portable automated wound care system allows to measure the size and depth of wounds. Artificial intelligence aids in wounds classification and documentation for faster wound healing treatment

BacteriaL detection

Our device features bacterial detection which assists wound infection treatments

Product Features

Our non-invasive imaging technique that provides a 3-D model of wound along with bacterial detection. This data will support medical practitioners in their clinical decision for better wound management.

3D WOUND Models

Fringe Projection Profilometry (FPP) is used for the 3D image acquisition and the wound depth measurement. Faster processing and vibration-free imaging are achieved via single-shot imaging.

BActerial Detection

We detect bacteria using Flourescence imaging. By utilizing appropriate excitation wavelengths (via LED) and optical filters, different bacteria can be detected.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is used to characterize the wounds. The device captures the image/information and sends it to a secure cloud server for data analysis. The analyzed data/information is sent back to the cellphone within a few seconds.

Our Device and App

In the second design, the device utilizes a new configuration to be more durable and improve the imaging conditions. It has a three-piece design which includes a bigger battery and improved lighting system and optical filters. The laser and optical filters are designed to be removable. The second design advantages are as bellow:

• Compact design

• High quality optical filters

• High quality laser mesh

• Easy to use

• Improved durability

In previous posts, we explored how efficient and effective assessment of acute and chronic wounds can help wound care teams in clinical practice to diagnose wounds, optimize treatment plans, reduce workload, and achieve a health-related quality of life for the population improve the patient greatly. While artificial intelligence (AI) has found wide applications in health-related sciences and technologies, artificial intelligence-based systems continue to be developed clinically and computationally for high-quality wound care.
